“And Windows is a means to get more people to use Microsoft services, and OS-X is just a means to get more people to use even more Apple services, etc. What's your point?

It's pre-beta...don't you think there are still improvements to be made?.
Check out her videos: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/19/daul-kim- ...From the videos, it looks like she had a very unique, intelligent and strong personality. That surprised me - when I think of models' personalities, the first people that come to my mind are Megan Fox and Tyran Banks, both vacuous human sculptures. Daul Kim's videos reveal a side of the business that I've never seen before.I'm sure she had to work very hard to get where she was. My heart goes out to her family. I'm sure she'll be missed dearly.!

I completely agree. Where's the market for this? How much cheaper can computers get? We basically have the non-techies and the techies:Non-techies: I suppose this is aimed at them, but at least not for a very long time will they want it because when they ask "will it work with my camera?" or "can I use my printer with it?" or "will [application x] work with it?" the answer may very well be "no." Those users only want/need one machine, and because of the limitations, they won't buy one with Chrome OS on it. Instead, they can buy one of the many netbooks/nettops/or even full on PCs that can be had for easily for $200 or less, with a full fledged operating system, and they can still get the exact same benefits by simply using a standard web browser (even chrome itself).Techies: they won't want it because of it's obvious limitations. So really, who is this for? I'm not counting it out yet, Google is much smarter than I am and has been thinking about it a lot more than I have, but I just don't see it. The chrome browser made some sense, but a whole OS that IS the browser? I don't really know how they expect to break into an already competitive market by adding limitations without providing anything that's better/cheaper than what's already available.?
Dugg for sarcasm. |

The reason this sucks is that he made a commitment to lower the % of ambassadors that were political appointees. However, when members of the American Foreign Service Association (the group that represents US diplomats) looked at his first couple months in office, he was out pacing the standard 30% political appointee rate for ambassadorships. To keep it at that historic level he basically would have had to stop any future political appointments, and I believe he still gave out more. That's why this is sort of a big deal. Yes, it's business as usual (or worse), but he said he would change the situation and didn't.

Actually, no.If it was Mccain's daughter I would not give a ***** either. Now If it were Palin's daughter...And before some right wingnut jumps in "HA! see.", The reason is because Palin lords her family values ***** over everyone and she has NO room to talk.Mccains daughter is conservative, but sane.

Then leave this discussion.Seriously, though, I watched a video of a Canon presentation and the rep said that the main reason they added video to their SLR was that a news organization (Associated Press?) asked them to add it. Photojournalists are increasingly asked to supply video, for the news web site, but they don't want to pay to send a videographer too.So a big reason video is on an SLR is because it is becoming a requirement for professionals. |
