| This is the movie I want to see this year at the theater. Probably at Alamo Drafthouse in Austin (for beers and wings) if they play it. |

Was about to say the same, but they're playing the bucs this week so my pick remains the same.
Waits is a lyrical genius. For example:"9th & Hennepin"Well it's 9th and HennepinAnd all the donuts haveNames that sound like prostitutesAnd the moon's teeth marks areOn the sky like a tarp thrown over all thisAnd the broken umbrellas likeDead birds and the steamComes out of the grill likeThe whole goddamned town is ready to blow. And the bricks are all scarred with jailhouse tattoosAnd everyone is behaving like dogs. And the horses are coming down Violin RoadAnd Dutch is dead on his feetAnd the rooms all smell like dieselAnd you take on theDreams of the ones who have slept here. And I'm lost in the windowI hide on the stairwayI hang in the curtainI sleep in your hatAnd no one brings anythingSmall into a bar around here. They all started out with bad directionsAnd the girl behind the counter has a tattooed tear,One for every year he's away she said, suchA crumbling beauty, but there'sNothing wrong with her that$100 won't fix, she has that razor sadnessThat only gets worseWith the clang and thunder of theSouthern Pacific going byAs the clock ticks out like a dripping faucetTill you're full of rag water and bitters and blue ruinAnd you spill outOver the side to anyone who'll listenAnd I've seen itAll through the yellow windowsOf the evening train.

Well, given that he smokes two joints before he smokes two joints, he must also smoke two joints before the two joints he smoked before he smoked two joints. What this turns out to be is actually an infinite number of joints.Heh..
I got it too; clever.!

My grandchildren want to thank the current Congress for continuing the out of control spending.?
Light beer, no thanks homie. A bottle of an average ale or wheat beer has only 150 calories anyway. I suppose light beer is good for people with bad taste who respond well to advertisements, though. |

@ lexpattison:"Thirdly, name a government RUN institution that has widespread fraud? One without some type of unnatural marriage to private industry."And then you go on to list "medicare" & "telcom" as examples but in your first post you say:"This argument works for any other large infrastructure endeavor (Health Care, Communication Infrastructure, etc.)"In your own words you are contradicting yourself.Look, I'm not against your opinion. In truth I agree with most of it, I was simply trying to highlight that government is subject to fraud as well and that it can often get away with more since it must be its own enforcer. PS: I didn't digg you down. :)

A farmer is in Iowa during a flood. The river is overflowing, with water surrounding the farmer's home up to his front porch. As he is standing there, a boat comes up, The man in the boat says "Jump in, I'll take you to safety."The farmer crosses his arms and says stubbornly, "Nope, I put my trust in God."The boat goes away. The water rises to the second floor. Another boat comes up, the man says to the farmer who is now in the second story window, "Jump in, I'll save you."The farmer again says, "Nope, I put my trust in God."The boat goes away. Now the water is up to the roof. As The farmer stands on the roof, a helicopter comes over, and drops a ladder. The pilot yells down to the farmer "I'll save you, climb the ladder."The farmer says "Nope, I put my trust in God."The helicopter goes away. The water comtinues to rise and sweeps the farmer off the roof. He drowns. The farmer goes to heaven. God sees him and says "What are you doing here?"The farmer says "I put my trust in you and you let me down."God says, "What do you mean, let you down? I sent you two boats and a helicopter!!!"
