Having traveled all over the globe myself, and seeing some of the people trying these on me I can say most of the time if you are aware of the area you are in, and are not lost in the excitement of the moment you shouldn't trust anyone you don't readily know. I've had the taxi scam tried on me when a trip from Quezon City to Mandaluyong took almost 2 hour's for a normal 30 min ride. I played along and when I arrived at my destination I got out of the cab and refused to pay the driver. Of course he got mad, and exited the cab yelling profanely, which constituted an act of violence in the city of Manila. I quickly informed him that my wife's uncle was the Mayor, and that if wished to continue the action's I would have him jailed, and his license revoked for perpetuating illegal action's of the scam. The whole time he thought I was just a tourist, and that my wife was a girl from the rural area's. He was right about my wife, but was unaware that she was was from the Ocampo family. Silly taxi driver's and their prejudice's about foreigner's. Also once had some Police officer's in Makati try to scam for 500 pesos or they would take me into the police station. These were actual police officer's of the city. I showed them my passport, and they threatened to keep the passport if I didn't pay them, or they would arrest me. I politely showed them my military ID card, and made sure they were aware that they were breaking the law themselves. Needless to say, I got the passport back, and never paid a dime for the scam.Just to warn people even the police will try to pull money if they can. If you are traveling, know the law's of the country you are in, and know your right's as a visitor. The best thing to do in any of these situation's is to avoid being out in public without a person from the region's you are visiting that you can trust.
Where do you see a gif? Why the hell does it say there's a video? I would bury it for that but whatever this is pretty awesome anyway.

with that city boy mentality, that's how idiot drivers get their cars stuck in the snow and what not. Flooring it means better traction, right??
"But they said he's a terrorist, shouldn't we send him to a secret illegal prison, torture him, deny him a trial, and take away more of the American civil liberties?"@elcob32, the answer is no because he is an American citizen. Unlike the people captured on the battlefield in foreign countires. |
