Health care reform that does nothing to change the cost of health care is not reform. This bill is going to be a disaster, it is going to put every American into a broken system that costs too much and is going to balloon beyond what the CDC estimates. Why can't we pass a bill on the parts both Republicans and Democrats agree, one that limits insurance companies ability to refuse treatment based on preexisting conditions after they have accepted someone's payments for the last year and one that limits torte. There are so many things we can do to bring down the cost of health care, but neither side will listen because of their key talking points

I actually had a conservative today tell me that government run healthcare would be disastrously expensive because buying insurance for 300 million people leads to far higher costs for each person in the insurance pool than the per-person cost of his buying insurance just for the 4 people in his family. He also told me I was an idiot to not realize how much costs go up for everyone as the pool of insured goes up. I think this shows one example of why they aren't the practitioners of fiscal responsibility they think they are - the understanding of money many of them has is even worse than the understanding my wife has.!

This is a cloture vote to allow debate and allow the addition of amendments to the bill not vote on the bill. After this the final bill with all passed amendments. Will be filibuster again and need a second cloture vote. What Lincoln is saying is that she will join the second filibuster if after the amendment phase the public option isn't dropped.In addition each added amendment can be filibustered during the debate phase. Needing 60 votes again and again to keep the debate continuing. Which is what i suspect the GOP will do to drag the debate phase as long as possible. Before the final bill phase.I heard Hannity on his radio show lying to his listeners telling them tonights cloture vote is the final and only needed cloture vote.People really shouldn't take civics lessons from liars who do not know WTF they are talking about.
