My IQ is 101 and i thought it was funny.
Assuming I believe one single word of this article, this just goes to show how ignorant the general public is about how science works. Even if one group is manipulating data (which, admittedly, is possible, and does happen from time to time, unfortunately), do you really believe that does anything to seriously discredit the hundreds of results published in legitimate, peer-reviewed scientific journals by research groups all over the world?Sometimes I think the internet has turned people dumber. Science isn't like writing a blog; you don't get to publish whatever you feel like. Publications go through a rigorous review process prior to appearing in any respected scientific journals. The evidence in favor of anthropogenic climate change is about as strong as for any other widely accepted theory. But some guy with a blog says some hacker has blown up the whole theory. Conveniently, he doesn't bother to provide any evidence for his claims whatsoever. Brilliant.

“That's my biggest pet peeve. People get pissed off at support tech's because they don't know how to use the application the end user should know (either through interview process or training) and our IT gets a bad name because we won't sit down and teach someone how to use the basic functionality of MS Word.

It is a shame though that the education system failed you. It is a shame that the government failed this Lance Corporal. It is a shame that this country is unwilling to actually make our leaders get us out of these hell holes where our children go to die..
Wow, those are terrible.!

I never understood the "this is not critical, so ignore the issue for ever" mentality. There is nothing wrong with L.A. dealing with this issue. At least with this title, the submitter ensures himself a healthy dose of diggs. Sensationalist Title Ftw!

Screw netbooks. I want a smart phone that works like this. One that will connect over wireless to a keyboard and monitor so I no longer need a desktop machine. All files stored in the cloud and give me the ability to swap out phone hardware and everything continues to work. When is that going to happen? |
