Totally misread that title, thought it said a giant snail was feeding pies to people
I always get dugg down for saying this, but what the hell.Science is as brutal and competitive as business and politics combined. People devote their entire careers to a particular theory or area of study and often the choice is made before leaving college and can be very difficult to change should their field take a drastic change in direction. People can do desperate things to protect their life's work and advance their careers, scientists are no exception.

“It's rather simple. It's true of most industry in this country. The large telecom companies won't push broadband into areas they can't make at least 30% profit from. It took government intervention to get rural electrification in the 1930s. And since most people who have access to broadband only can get it from one provider, the issue of lack of competition is huge. Even where there is competition, prices seem set with 5mb/s going for roughly $50/month. Ever since the government relinquished control of the Internet back in the early 90s, they have really stayed away from regulating it. As a result, we have one of the lowest broadband penetration, the lowest broadband bandwidth and the highest costs of any industrialized country. Leaving it to totally the private sector has not gotten us very far. If we want to be better than 20th, it's going to take government intervention.

Buttars is also well-known in Utah for running the Utah Boys Ranch, a reform school for troubled teens. Many previous "inmates" of this gulag-style school were sent there by their religious parents because of their homosexuality. Buttars used physical and mental abuse to "cure" them. The guy's a complete moron. Shame on his district for continuing to elect him!http://www.mormongulag.com/

I agree. They really do need to refer to the BOfH when coming up with explanations in the future.Barring kind of unique things from remote control satellites, failures seem to boil down to:- Programming error- Configuration error- Windows malware (worm, virus, or Trojan and cannot recall any Trojans hitting govt. computers in the news)If there was network or node information for the router in that database table, their explanation makes sense, I guess. Basically, a configuration problem. |
