Come on, he's already had 10 months to fix the problem Republicans spent 8 years creating. OBAMA'S OBVIOUSLY A TOTAL FAILURE!!!!!!/s
I find it a little sad that some of the craziest technology must always come from military research.

“Companies "innovate" by going green after it's basically too late. Man, they're so super on top of things and progressive!

Unfortunately, this is nowhere near as good as Puzzlequest. It lacks depth, variety and complexity plus Bejeweled Twist isn't as goon as Puzzlequest's match-3 system. If you haven't played Puzzlequest, hey, you'll enjoy this, but if you have, you'll find this somewhat shallow. On the plus side it's got great music..
Well let's see, in the production of the LHC they developed a new material to get the power to their magnets that would make it possible to make super efficient power transmissions. Not to mention the "grid" they are using to transmit data to all the participating universities around the world is essentially the internet 2.0. So investing in new particle accelerators brings about immediate technological advances as well as basic research. To be fair though, eventually we'll have to find better ways of getting to the high energy. If current predictions are right we won't find anything hugely earth shattering until 3 orders of magnitude less than the Planck energy (which is about 16 orders of magnitude greater than the LHC's energy), the predicted electroweak-strong symmetry breaking energy. Making a synchotron to get that energy would be pretty much impossible. Also the LHC took decades to plan and build, so a delay of 10 years can have a pretty chilling effect on particle physics.!

Their response is, "here's some free literature, install this free CD and then recompile these three tar balls and do a md5 check. After that you may need to do a yum update, which might break the kernal, but it's all really easy because we have these man pages you can read to figure it all out."?

They don't use RedHat they use RedFlag Linux. They wouldn't be using any distro from a U.S. company like Redhat.

Me too. +1 I don't have the figures right in front of me, but I think it was South Africa that started using DDT in a very targeted manner not terribly long ago, and new malaria infections were down by something like 40%.
