I don't think it's bad luck; these puritanical idiots might wind up doing something of benefit to society now that their time is no longer occupied with this.
and what are those reasons?it's not very obvious to me.

This is a cloture vote to allow debate and allow the addition of amendments to the bill not vote on the bill. After this the final bill with all passed amendments. Will be filibuster again and need a second cloture vote. What Lincoln is saying is that she will join the second filibuster if after the amendment phase the public option isn't dropped. In addition each added amendment can be filibustered during the debate phase. Needing 60 votes again and again to keep the debate continuing. Which is what i suspect the GOP will do to drag the debate phase as long as possible. Before the final bill phase.I heard Hannity on his radio show lying to his listeners telling them tonights cloture vote is the final and only needed cloture vote.People really shouldn't take civics lessons from liars who do not know WTF they are talking about..
I'm not surprised, seeing as reprinting other people's stories is much cheaper than producing news stories in-house... Perhaps I'm missing something since I didn't read the article.!

I used to eat them every year as a kid growing up in the Texas panhandle. If I remember right they are moderately chewy and taste mildly liverish. These people are making a big deal over nothing.

Check your numbers there because the national debt increased every single year under Clinton he never once payed down the debt (he just fudged the numbers to make it look like it).

I just looked up the definition of "gratuity":graâ‹…tuâ‹…iâ‹…ty1. a gift of money, over and above payment due for service, as to a waiter or bellhop; tip.2. something given without claim or demand. So yes, mandatory gratuity is an oxymoron. The restaurant demand the gratuity, even though by definition it's something given without demand. Not possible. I'm sure this will be their defense in court.
The guts to make the tough call? You mean the guts to just allow the Taliban and Al Qaeda to keep attacking America without doing anything about it? I'm not sure "gutsy" is the word for that particular policy.
