Being 12 feet below the sea level, every New Orleanian was very much aware of the dangers of hurricanes; it was never a question of IF the big one would hit, but WHEN. Growing up in that area, my neighborhood flooded ALMOST EVERY YEAR. The city water pumps run 24/7/365 to keep the water out. Nagin is a New Orleans native -- HE KNOWS New Orleans gets hits by hurricanes all the time!New Orleans had an evacuation plan. The plan included using school and city buses to get everyone out of the city. RAY NAGIN FAILED TO ACTIVATE THAT PLAN. The only time a school bus was used was when a teenager broke into one, hotwired it, and drove as many people as he could fit on it to Texas.The thing to keep in mind is that the Democrats run New Orleans; it's a Democrat stronghold. They knew that the school buses were part of the evacuation plan.
