“I completely agree. Where's the market for this? How much cheaper can computers get? We basically have the non-techies and the techies:Non-techies: I suppose this is aimed at them, but at least not for a very long time will they want it because when they ask "will it work with my camera?" or "can I use my printer with it?" or "will [application x] work with it?" the answer may very well be "no." Those users only want/need one machine, and because of the limitations, they won't buy one with Chrome OS on it. Instead, they can buy one of the many netbooks/nettops/or even full on PCs that can be had for easily for $200 or less, with a full fledged operating system, and they can still get the exact same benefits by simply using a standard web browser (even chrome itself).Techies: they won't want it because of it's obvious limitations. So really, who is this for? I'm not counting it out yet, Google is much smarter than I am and has been thinking about it a lot more than I have, but I just don't see it. The chrome browser made some sense, but a whole OS that IS the browser? I don't really know how they expect to break into an already competitive market by adding limitations without providing anything that's better/cheaper than what's already available.

Funny how Clinton was paying off the debt and wanted this practice to continue under Gore. But the Republicans, at the first sight of a surplus, screamed bloody murder about how it was their money and that the governent couldnt be trusted to spend it. So instead of electing Gore, getting a modest tax cut and continue to pay off debt, Bush Jr was elected, got two massive tax cuts, a war we didnt need and now all we hear is non-stop bitching about how Obama is ruining America. Look in the mirror next time you complain about national debt. If a Republican gets elected in 2012, take a WILD guess what they'll do, propose a massive tax cut that we still cant afford and add another trillion to that debt.

Not on this Earth apparently. He's been out for years, and he's been rather vocal about being out...he's been with David Burtka for a very long (especially by Hollywood standards) time now, and they go to most award shows as a couple.

These people shouldn't come to congress to get re-elected. That's why I love Alan Grayson, he just doesn't care, he will speak his mind. |
