If everything moved to browser-based platforms (like Quake Live, and Flash/Unity based games) it would be fine, but who the hell wants that? Sure, there are some damn good Flash games, but I don't see it being an OS for gaming. It's a netbook OS, plain and simple.
American politicians (Republicans AND Democrats, Congress AND all the recent Presidents) are like a room full of morbidly obese guys sitting on couches and arguing with each other:"The problem here is that you liberals want us to eat too much!" (The fun part is spending.)"No, the problem is that you conservatives don't want us to exercise enough!" (The hard part is taxing.)Both sides are frauds and pathetic "leaders" for our nation. They both just want some plausible-sounding excuse that lets them blame the other side when the truth is that NEITHER has close to the amount of discipline required to start living within a reasonable "calorie diet" that would work. The liberals figure that if you exercise like Michael Phelps you can eat 8,000 calories a day and not get fat, so that half of these pathetic slobs sit on the couch dreaming of a non-stop supply of jelly donuts going into their faces. They fantasize that it'll be OK if "sometime later" they go ahead and jog "just a few dozen miles before bedtime" and delude themselves that somehow enough taxes will fix the problem. The conservatives just HATE exercising with a vehement passion and declare they would rather "starve themselves to death" than exercise at ANY point they could possibly avoid it. And they say how rational their perspective is "because WE have the self-discipline to not over-eat" just oh-so-snidely. Then they go right ahead and grab themselves few dozen National Defense Crullers and chase them with a whole box of Foreign War Eclairs. These pathetic excuses for leadership should be locked into a room once a year for budget negotiations. They should have a "Thunderdome Budgeting Deathmatch" where each side can argue, fight, spit, scream, bite and generally beat each other senseless until they have finished deciding what PERCENTAGE of *last year's* actual tax receipts they want to spend on which purpose. If the conservatives want to put most of the pie into gold-plated cruise missiles, then fine. If the liberals want government funded abortions for gay whales, fine. Let them cage fight each other to decide how to slice the pie. But stop borrowing another pie that our children will have to pay back! I feel really sorry for high school kids today. You already owe almost $40,000 (your share of America's 12 trillion dollar total debt) and you've never even gotten to vote! Dad and grandpa already spent your money kid! Too bad! The youth should be enraged.

“The junk at walmart is the same junk you buy everywhere else. It's just cheaper because they bully suppliers. Err, they use their "buying power".

The Gamma Ray Burst is being most tied to the Ordovician extinction. There are several reasons for this that the article doesn't go into. The main one is which species were most effected. In that particular extinction, land dwelling animals and ones were the ones most impacted. Because gamma rays are stopped by any deep water, ocean and deep lake species were not as heavily affected.... With the exception of species like Trilobites which layed their eggs on the surface. This was a prediction that fits best with what should be expected with a GRB, but does not fit well with other possible scenarios. Those scenarios, however, do explain other mass extinctions.Just as a note: I worked with Dr. Melott for a few years on an unrelated project.!

Leopard to Snow Leopard IS a major upgrade. Just because there aren't new features to the end user doesn't mean there aren't many new features and additions. Look at all of the under the hood changes Apple did. New APIs, fixed and updated old APIs. Grand Central Dispatch, OpenCL, 64 bit from top to bottom. Snow Leopard was far more than bug fixes. Please show a little understanding of OS X and Snow Leopard before claiming it is merely a service pack and spreading more FUD about it.Every 10.x upgrade has been significant in some way to justify it to be more than a 10.x.y update (the equal of a service pack). On that note, Windows 7 isn't a service pack either. It brings a lot to the table that Vista was lacking on, with many fixes, upgrades and new features.

Next on CMA's agenda: Sky is reported to be 'blue', and the sun will 'probably rise in the east tomorrow'.
